Duties and Expectations

The duties of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

Academic Assistance :
- Aids classroom instructional efforts;
- At the direction of the classroom teacher, circulates in the classroom; to help facilitate activities, check for understanding, correct behavior, and limit distraction among students;
- Works one-on-one with students needing assistance after a short term absence or transitioning to DVCS;
- Administers some oral assessments as needed;
- Supervises a class or takes over a lesson when the main teacher has to address a discipline issue in private with a student.
Instructional Support:
- Assists in the preparation of materials/manipulatives for instruction;
- Sorting, filing of student work, and preparation of end of week packets;
- Input of grades into FACTS SIS;
- Assists the teacher in meeting the safety, and general well being of students.

Duties and Expectations

Teaching 5 full-time courses and one mathematics elective (elective meets one period per week).
- Courses include pre-algebra, Algebra I and II, geometry, and statistics.
Model vibrant Christian faith with an intellectual curiosity.
Participate in faculty meetings.
Handle regular school day duties, such as lunch duty or car line.
Other duties as assigned.

Courses to be taught include: Rhetoric, a section of Advanced Literature or American Literature, potentially an additional literature section, and Personal Finance.
