Duties and Expectations

The duties of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Academic Assistance :
    • Aids classroom instructional efforts;
    • At the direction of the classroom teacher, circulates in the classroom; to help facilitate activities, check for understanding, correct behavior, and limit distraction among students;
    • Works one-on-one with students needing assistance after a short term absence or transitioning to DVCS;
    • Administers some oral assessments as needed;
    • Supervises a class or takes over a lesson when the main teacher has to address a discipline issue in private with a student.
  • Instructional Support:
    • Assists in the preparation of materials/manipulatives for instruction;
    • Sorting, filing of student work, and preparation of end of week packets;
    • Input of grades into FACTS SIS;
    • Assists the teacher in meeting the safety, and general well being of students.

Duties and Expectations

  • Teaching 5 full-time courses and one mathematics elective (elective meets one period per week).
    • Courses include pre-algebra, Algebra I and II, geometry, and statistics.
  • Model vibrant Christian faith with an intellectual curiosity.
  • Participate in faculty meetings.
  • Handle regular school day duties, such as lunch duty or car line. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
